All it takes is action to turn your ideas into income and that’s Creating Coins. My name is LaTisha Styles. I was thinking about you today and I wanted to share this with you.
How much of your success is dependent on routine? I started thinking about this today while I was at crossfit. I went to the 6:00 AM class today and if you follow me on social media, you probably have seen that I’m that crazy crossfitter and I really enjoy doing crossfit. However, if you know me personally, then you might’ve had a chance to chat with me recently about how I actually stopped doing crossfit and I got to a point where I was just tired of it and I wanted a break after two years of doing it, sometimes four days a week, sometimes five days a week, depending on what my fitness goals were at the time. I just got tired, I got burned out and it’s possible to get burned out, especially when you’re doing something that requires a lot of mental fortitude.
It’s mentally stressing to put yourself through that kind of torture every time but the one thing that I did have, when I was doing crossfit often, (which I realized which is what I missed and what I craved) was a sense of structure to my day and a sense of routine. I knew that every single day I was going to wake up, work for a little bit, get changed, go to the noon class, which is a class that I was, was going to at the time until I switched to the 9:00 AM. I had a specific time that I had to be somewhere. I think sometimes when you work for yourself and you have the ability to set your own hours, it’s easy to fall into the trap of waking up when we want, because that’s what we all want, right?
We don’t want be a slave to an alarm clock. If we’re really feeling tired, we want to be able to just go back to sleep. I think sometimes it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that wake up when you want means you still have structure to your day. I’m not saying that you should immediately start setting an alarm and waking up at a specific time, but I have been so much more productive over the last couple of days and a lot of people asked me, how do I get more done? How do I become more productive? If you’re, trying to get more done and you’re having a hard time, I would definitely say add a little bit more structure to your day. Whether it’s setting a specific time to wake up every single day, even on the weekends, setting that specific time so that you know, for a fact that’s the time that you’re going to wake up and get to work or if it’s just having a specific gym class that you go to at the same time every day so that you essentially have to squeeze in what you’re going to do in and around that time.
The other thing that really kind of fell apart after I stopped going to crossfit was my diet and I’m the type of person that I really, really enjoy food. I don’t know if you do or you don’t, but food actually makes me really happy. I don’t know if you can hear the grin on my face right now, but I love food. Whenever I start eating, I do little dances. It’s funny because my husband will say, I can tell that you just made a plate because I see your head moving and you’re dancing, and I’m like, yeah, food’s good. So when I had a routine and I had a specific time that I had to be somewhere, I was fitting, my work schedule around it.
I also had specific set times that I was eating and because I had specific set times that I was eating, those times start to grow and go beyond what they should have been. They were specific to 30 minutes to maybe an hour where I was resting at the table. I had meals that were already planned. So those planned meals meant that I didn’t have to waste time trying to figure out what am I going to eat. I had a lot less waste of time when I had a routine. This is just a quick note to encourage you to set a routine, to choose something that you’re going to do every single day. At least five out of the seven days on a consistent basis to where you know that’s how you have your day scheduled and once you do that you’ll find that you’ll be a lot more productive where you’ll get a lot more done, but you won’t feel busy.
I mean in the last couple of days I’ve been kind of changing things back up and getting back to my routine. I’ve gotten so much done but I haven’t felt busy for a moment. It’s all been very fulfilling and not only that but I’ve been making more, so that’s really exciting as well. I just wanted to share that with you today that the thing that kind of ties us all together is having accountability. I mean, you can set your own routine and you can decide, that I’m going to do this, but motivation and willpower will only get you so far. At some point, you’ve got to have a mentor to guide you. You’ve got to have accountability. You’ve got to have partners that are supporting you along the way, so if that’s what you know that you need in your life, in order to grow your yourself and your business to the next level, then I would love to invite you to join us in the Creating Coins Mastermind.
