Today is the final day of FinCon (the financial content expo).
This is my 7th year here and each year I have so much fun.
This year I had a very simple goal…
I’ll share that in a second.
A few years ago at FinCon I spoke on a panel about transitioning my blog into a personal brand.
I was in the process of shifting from personal finance into a brand as a marketing consultant.
That year was going pretty well and I was booking clients through phone calls that came via a funnel.
I went to the closing keynote and I had a huge aha moment.
The speaker told his story about how he had been fired from Facebook (giving up $170 million dollar payout at the same time).
During the closing keynote, the speaker, Noah Kagan, shared what he learned after leaving Facebook and then building a multi-million dollar company of his own.
He shared how he failed multiple times.
Then he shared a thought that gave me an aha moment.
I’m paraphrasing here, but essentially he said, “Figure out how to sell to many instead of one to one.”
As I mentioned, at the time I was selling one to one and booking my clients phone call by phone call, consult by consult.
Once I heard what he said, I started perfecting my webinar and speaking strategy.
I began limiting my phone call consults and I started booking clients via Facebook messenger and directly from a sales page.
Fast forward to this year and my one simple goal which was, sell to many instead of one on one.
I also focused on making as many new connections as possible this year.
When I compare and contrast the two…
1 – Selling to many via a webinar/speaking
2 – Making individual connections and selling one on one
…I can make a clear choice on which I prefer.
Clearly it’s awesome to meet new friends but, for an introvert like me, there’s nothing better than speaking to many and then making an effortless sale with someone who is already sold on working with you.
And this year I was able to do just that. I hosted a special presentation for many and booked a new client with ease.

Your partner in success,
P.S. I am forever grateful to Noah Kagan for teaching me the power of leverage. Here’s how I implemented what he shared: https://youvegotclients.com/anti-webinar-registration
